Seeking the Lord

Recently a friend reminded me of something important I would like to share. I will begin with the verse in Isaiah 55:6 – “Seek the LORD while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. “
To not know something is one thing but when one doesn’t know God’s immediate will, the question I need to ask is, how do I respond? Am I responding in an appropriate manner? Do I get angry at God or others? Am I listening to Him from His Word and becoming sensitive to His voice? I think it is also important to remember, one can be encouraged by those with whom he or she interacts. Do I listen to others when they encourage and instruct out of His Word? For me, being in tune with others and what they are saying is of key importance. Listening to them is vital and something I need to ask God for help with each and every moment.
Christian fellowship seems to play a vital role in building up one another in the Lord. (see 1 Th. 5:11) I seek to know God’s will and to listen to His people. 1 John 4:6 – “But we belong to God; that is why those who know God listen to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us. That is how we know if someone has the Spirit of truth or the spirit of deception.” God’s will and immediate plans may not be clear right now but my response to His people and His Word can be the answer to understanding the plans. Likewise, “1 Thessalonians 5:18 reads, “Give thanks in everything, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. “

Psalm 4:3 – “You can be sure of this: The LORD has set apart the godly for himself. The LORD will answer when I call to him.”
Psalm 34:17 – “The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles.”
And I must be reminded of this promise from the Lord in Jeremiah 29:13 – “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”
