Mishandling vs. Murder

Lately, “mishandling” of the Quran has been getting much media coverage. At the same time, Bibles in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere are being completely destroyed with little or no mainstream coverage at all. In fact, it doesn’t stop with total destruction of God’s word. If one is caught carrying a Bible (s) you can be legally murdered in these countries. Big media in the United States and around the world like to point out “mishandlings” and desecration of the book on Islam and ignore important, tragic realities.
As we hand out Quran’s to prisoners, I would like to take this time to remind anyone who might read this, what we are actually doing. Keep in mind these are terrorist, murderist, beheader advocates whom we have captured and put into prison. These people want to annilate America. They would enjoy and take great satisfaction in torturing and ultimately destroying you. Why? Because they learned it. And where did they learn it? You guessed it. The Quran itself; the book that we are handing out to them, “out of respect” for their religion. The god of Islam teaches murder of any and all who do conform to the teaches of Islam. And more specifically, the murder of Christians and Jews. While the mainstream media will not point out evil such as this in the hopes of confusing you, I will gladly enlighten further. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to understand that strapping on a bomb with the intention of targeting and blowing up civilians is evil and chaotic. In fact, the Bibles says, “God is not the author of confusion, but of peace.” (1 Cor. 14:33)

Only in Eureka, CA

Today the temperature is about 72 degrees. Ordinarily this would not be an unusual point for discussion but this is unusual for Eureka, CA. This brings me to my point. I remember living where warmth is common and normal. Did I say normal? Yep, normal. Warm weather, pleasant weather, anything where the sun is shining bright is normal. In fact, for this reason, it is not discussed. It is however, discussed in Eureka, CA. Actually, warmer weather only appears for a day or two or three out of the year. In places where it snows, it is cold and yet, people know it won't last. Summer is coming and so is warmth. Otherwise if it didn't, I imagine folks would move in droves, especially if it were cold all year around. I will be going to a place that is warmer in summer and cold in winter as it should be. A place where this isn't even discussed. Eureka, CA does not know about this. However, it does know about colder in summer, cold in winter, mild in fall and sometimes mild in both winter and summer as well. I look forward to days of warmth. Notice I did not say "heat". By the way, tonight is Bible study night. Yes, and weather will be discussed too. Only in Eureka, CA.

Video, Editing Software and Decision

So I'm considering whether or not to make another plunge. This time it involves editing. If I tape a wedding for example I would like to be able to edit it with more capability than I have now. The editing software I currently use is extremely limited although I didn't pay for it. I'm also experimenting with a free extremely limited version of Avid express. The price for a full version isn't cheap for me. To upgrade the old program, would only cost around $50 vs. $700-$800 for Avid. Youch. I really do dislike decisions, especially when it involves money I don't have. No, I just dislike decisions, period. Of course, I'll figure something out. I don't even enjoy editing much but who knows, maybe it can be turned into a money maker in time. Anybody got something you want video taped? I just might shoot it of you at a very low cost, especially if it's local.

Looking at hypocrisy

I'm quite certain many who have seen the movie Runaway Bride starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere would say they enjoyed it. In the movie, Julia Roberts played a bride who "ranaway" from her wedding three times before tying the knot. We watch it and think, how funny, great fun, after all it is just a movie. I know personally as I watched the film I was thinking, does this stuff really happen? Well, apparently it does...sort of. The woman who has recently "runaway" from her wedding (see story here) is facing public ridicule for her actions but I believe many of us are being extremely hypocritical. I am not condoning her lying as to a supposed abduction but I do believe the mentality that sought to see Terri Shaivo starve to death is rearing it's ugly head once again. In fact, many have forgotten what happened on September 11, 2001 and such true evil still exists. People wish to murder us because their religion and god demands it! The vindictiveness that has been seen as of late toward Ms. Wilbanks seems to be unfortunately becoming a trend. Instead of us embracing her for rethinking marriage (not to condone the method) perhaps we all need to take a good hard look in the mirror before we pass such a harsh judgment. I surmise that Julia Roberts would not face such public humility.
