Sometimes things happen in life we do not understand. And sometimes we want things to happen a certain way because we might think....then finally everything will be right. Perhaps this seems true in our eyes but it's important to remember God has the bigger picture and plan for our life. As a Christian, we are able to know some details of that plan and that God does have total control over it. We can take comfort in this. We learn a little bit about this in many parts of scripture but we can see his hand over our life, seen in you and I---a most important part of His creation.
In John 15:16 Jesus says, "You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit". We see that God is in control of the situation. In Ephesians 1:4 we read," ...as he has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world...." Once again, God knew if you would be saved before the foundation of the world.." Also we can know God our Father is in control because He does the drawing of us to Himself. Jesus said that "No man can come to me, except the Father which has sent me draw him" and "All that the Father gives me shall come to me: and him that comes to me I will in no wise cast out." (John 6:44,37) We are safe in His arms once we have a saving faith relationship with Jesus Christ. We can get lost in the details of life many times but we must remember what we do know and that the ultimate plan is under God's sovereignty (His complete authority and control). "The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." You can be resting securely in His arms right now no matter how chaotic and upside down your life may seem - www.areyougood.us
"I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes..."

On living and loving
It's been nearly two weeks since coming to South Dakota. Now the process of finding work continues and my becoming culturized to the area does too. Milk gets pasturized and I am learning about a new life once again. I've been a few places in America; all very different; New York, Pittsburgh, Southern Cal to name a few.
Los Angeles, CA is sometimes overwhelming in terms of aggression and impatience. Because people are aggressive, a suitable saying for the area might be what I call the "me first" or "dog eat dog" mentality. I realize not all who live in Southern California, specially the LA basin, fit these terms. In fact, many do not and actually are truly nice and friendly folks. The generalized terms are just that, generalized and a overall feel of the area of which I do not miss. Humboldt County, CA is another extreme. Many here seem to believe not many other people exist on the planet nor care if they do because we are such a special place; the envy of the world. I suppose they have that in common with the southern half of the state. However, Humboldt County doesn't even have a Walmart; also a point many who live here are proud of. To some, it is even a badge of honor. Still others appreciate the beauty of the area and the trees, yet know there is more to life outside the Redwood curtain.
The Twin Cities in Minnesota is a special place to me. I can't completely explain why, but the quality of living is quite nice and the weather is unpredictable too. Country living is next to the city, (within 20 mins) and city living is next to the country which I think is pretty cool. Then there is Todd Friel: a great guy on the radio to listen to. Now, I am in South Dakota. Why is that, you ask? One reason is because I like new places and seeing how people live in different places. The main reason, however, is because of someone special. Someone very special to me. I am not sure what God wants for our lives in terms of where to live but I believe we were brought together for a reason. I believe He brought us together for a purpose and He wants to use us for something. You may see pictures of this special lady, Reada, on my website: www.areyougood.us I love and care for her very much.
If I go to live somewhere else, I pray we are able to go together one day.
