There's a war going on...

Christians know about war or at least should know about war---Spiritual warfare is something which is going on even as I write this. Ephesians 6 speaks of this warfare. There is a war between good and evil going on. There are wars and battles that can be seen and battles that are fought with military might. Some of these battles are fought with words and take place indirectly. The commander of evil is Satan. Whether this war is fought in the natural or spiritual realm, he is behind all that which opposes God. God is good, righteous and holy and demands justice. God is behind all that is good, righteous and perfect.

We are seeing physical evidence of the two wars going on right now between terrorist groups (such as Hezbollah) and the state of Israel in the form of lives being taken and cities destroyed. Many people want to blame Israel and the United States for wars with any such terrorists. The war is visible militarily in the natural realm, yet just under the surface Christians are engaged in the exact same war. Any people who seek to destroy human life because their religion demands it, is sadly on the side of evil. The same spirit which sought to destroy Jesus and release a murderer named Barabbas is alive and well today. Satan seeks to destroy life and is against all who worship the God of the Bible. Remember, our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. (Ephesians 6:12)

The religion of Islam advocates the destruction of Israel and all who worship Jesus Christ the only true God. Satan knows who Jesus is and ultimately seeks to destroy all who follow God. Unfortunately, many have been taken captive by the devil to do his will. (2 Timothy 2:25, 26)
God has made it clear in his word who the enemy is and what the duty for all Christians is.

We Still Need to tell Kirk Cameron

It's amazing how these little web log things work. You sit at the computer and face a brightly lit screen and type on a board-like contraption complete with lettered buttons--- letters which one uses to form words that appear on the brightly lit screen within a message box. At some point you publish your polished written piece of work to the internet so others can view what you've written---all of which is outputted to a message box on brightly lit screens. But the point I want to make is that it's funny how when you need a minister to perform a wedding ceremony they're hard to find for various reasons.

I know, I know you're probably thinking it's because the wedding is planned during wintertime (Dec 30th) and it's during a common vacation time, (something about Christmas and New Years I've heard), and it's deep in the heart of tundra-land (South Dakota) away from major transportation hubs. But thankfully people still do love us and I've been told, would love to marry us otherwise. I know this to be true because those who have been asked have said they would love to but it's a bad time. I think it's a wonderful time especially since it's kind of fun to think big and....daring. Especially because to those who know me best, the word daring probably isn't the word they think of when my name comes to mind. And that's ok. I still love you too. To those of you who do think of me as a 'daring adventurous kinda fella".... you're entitled to your opinions as well.

The point is that when one looks for a minister/pastor to perform a wedding ceremony it's important to Reada and I that he be a friend of ours and will present a clear Gospel. Reada and I agree that we won't agree on everything but we do agree that we want people to know why they need a Savior. We want the message of Jesus of Christ to be plainly presented on our wedding day no matter how much snow is falling or how cold it gets outside. This should be both exciting and interesting for us and all those, God willing, who plan to attend my mini-mega wedding. Oh, and bring your sleds!

Verse for Today's Post: Therefore we do not lose heart, even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
2 Corinthians 4:16-17 NKJV
