Rebuttal to My Own Editorial?

Well today my second editorial (essentially a Gospel message) was printed in the newspaper (Eureka Reporter). You can see it here. Unfortunately, I didn't choose the headline because if I had, what is written wouldn't have been written. The Bible makes it clear the only way to Heaven is through Christ alone which thankfully is pretty clear in the letter. The whole point to be made is to show we have all sinned against a holy, and just God who demands perfection.

One can see this point clearly when we look at His Law. The sinful nature of course, fights it and denies it but nevertheless, God demands perfection, holiness (and truth in the inward parts Psalm 51:6). The issue is one of righteousness and we cannot live the perfect standard God requires. Because of Adam's sin in the Garden of Eden, we are all doomed to Hell from birth. Because of one man, sin entered the world. Through one man, who did not sin (God manifest in the flesh in the person of Jesus Christ) we can be saved from the wrath to come (Judgment). (1 Cor. 15:22, Romans 5:12, Romans 5:8,9)

Verse for today's post: Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,... Acts 17:30

Microsoft Updates a good idea--- I'm not so sure

This picture was uploaded from a different computer.

I seemed to have solved the pictures upload malfunction. The trouble started after I updated the computer with the latest Microsoft updates. Restoring the computer to a date before the updates were installed has fixed the problem. Maybe Microsoft needs a new software update to fix the latest updates.

Visualize More Pictures

This post will not be interesting to many of you but it will be short. I know many of you love short blog post entries. I know I do. I don't read long posts except the ones I write and thats only because I wrote it so I had to read it while I was writing it. A great thing about a short blog post entry is that you can grab a bite to eat, something to wash it down with, a quick glance at the short posting and do it all in about 20 minutes and you're off---back to work or whatever you're suppose to be doing before you were interrupted by a short, not very funny and non- interesting weblog entry.
Blogger was being difficult in my last posting when it came to uploading pictures so this is more or less of a test entry to see if I can upload a picture and also write a short weblog entry. Anyways, Visualize picture one here.
As you can see, no picture. Maybe some of you in blogger land can help me get a picture up. In the meantime, I'll keep trying. Picture two.
Picture three.

Imagine picture four.

This is fun....and quick.

Verse for today's post: Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You.

Lunch Mourning

If you could see the picture you'd see lunch for today. I hope to have pictures uploaded as soon as blogger lets me. It is a picture of a BLT sandwich. Today Reada left for South Dakota. I thought eating the sandwich might help the pain of our separation. Sadly, it didn't help much, although I did feel better having eaten. I think I'll play Oregon Trail II now. Or not. Maybe I should go back to work and start saving for my wedding and the thing that comes after it.

The website www.areyougood.us has taken quite a few hits today, which is good because it means people are stopping by to say 'hello' in a cyber-online kind-of-way. Now only 4 and half months to go until the separation from my Sweetheart ends (God willing). Imagine the reunion on wedding day. This should be interesting.

Are Humans Really More Powerful Than Volcanoes?

I would like to know why most in the mainstream media are so willing to support and report the theory of global warming and blame it on us yet support another theory which says things are getting better and advancing forward. They conveniently ignore or choose to forget about the fact that it was years ago, during the 1930's when the heat record topped more than 100 degrees for over 21 days in Washington, D.C. The hottest day in the United States (since records have been kept) happened in Death Valley, CA. during the month of July, 1913.

If global warming is true and humans are the reason, how does the theory of human evolution fit into this? As soon as it begins, shouldn't cross species evolution make things better? What if it doesn't begin at all? Perhaps we're destroying and becoming better all at the same time!
A new developing human ought to be forming soon if they ever hope to reverse the trends of human caused global warming. We must soon get a handle on those pesky volcanoes which spew mega amounts of ash into the atmosphere if we ever hope to put an end to the heat! Oh, and not to forget the many forest fires each summer which destroy, burn and heat things up especially in forests! Maybe congress could pass a law to ban lightning from all government owned property and national parks!

No my friends, I don't like to be the bearer of bad news yet again but thinking minds know this isn't going to work. We're not even getting better. The Bible says we are sick, decaying and dying because of sin in us. Our hearts are filled with wickedness beyond even what we could ever imagine and it's only through individual repentance (turning from sin) and trust in Jesus Christ that one can ever be reconciled to God. God's holiness and perfect righteousness demands justice and purity so only God can forgive sinners. Who can claim sinlessness and perfection according to the standard of the Ten Commandments?
Have you ever lied? Always put God first? Set aside at least one day in seven to worship Him? Used God's name as a curse word? Lusted? Jesus said that lust is the same as committing adultery in the heart. (Matt.5)
Only God could pay the penalty of sin which happened when He came to earth over 2000 years ago in the person of Jesus Christ. How good are you? (Romans 3:10-18) see test at www.areyougood.us

Verse of Today's post: The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

Alaska for the Summer

The Humboldt Bay area once again is the subject for today's entry. Eureka CA is basking in the noon-day sun at about 62 degrees while the rest of the continental United States bakes in the heat. Amazing you say? Not really, especially if you live in Alaska where the high temperature today is forecast to reach about 60 degrees. That sounds familiar for Humboldt Bayers.
However, last week the heat wave of the country stopped briefly over the bay. The high in downtown Eureka hit 68 degrees!
Yep, that was a record for the area on that particular date. All of you who are enjoying the 100's and 90's please know you are welcome to stop by anytime.
Right now, I think I'll get outside to enjoy the fresh cool ocean air and go hiking with my Sweetheart before I go back to work!

Verse for Today: Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who turn many to righteousness will shine like stars forever. Daniel 12:3 NLT
