Migratory Swath of Birds = Spring is almost here!

So I was driving to work the other day in the snow and I noticed something I can't recall seeing before. I could be wrong about that but nevertheless, when I first saw it, I was struck with awe just minutes before I crashed into the bank. Ok, I didn't crash but what I saw in the sky was several mammoth size swaths of migratory birds flying north toward Canada (probably their native homeland no doubt)! Well, most of em were flying north. Some of the birds in the mile or so wide swath seemed to be confused about what they were doing while others clearly were leading the pack. Wait, that would apply to wolves if they were wolves--as in, a pack of wolves but they were birds so I'll just use the word "swath" for now because it fits perfect in describing what I remember seeing. Anyhow, I am amazed that our Creator, God, made these birds (native to the north) to fly together and He created them to know it's time to go north because it's suppose to get warmer soon.

Watching these birds reminded me of people. Some lead and others follow, and still others aren't quite sure where they are or where they are going. I've felt that way before.
Do you know where you are going?

Now I would like to know what kind of birds these were but from what I could tell from my vantage-point far below, they were ducks--not geese as originally thought. I'm guessing Canadian ducks of some sort. My cousin suggested a godwit but we're sure those are mostly found close to Eureka, CA near the beach. However, as I continued driving I was able to get a closer look at some in a pond and some were clearly white birds with dark wing tips and some had solid, dark bodies. Whatever type of birds they were, I will remember two things. Since God made them and watches over them, how much more He is surely watching over you and me! And lastly, those were the largest swaths of migratory birds I can recall seeing in quite some time --had to be at least a half-mile in length or something like that.

Update: The migratory birds have been identified and were in fact a mixed bred flock of geese as identified in a still photograph soon to be seen here. Although I still think I saw ducks the other day.
