The evil will not go unpunished
It seems some people are getting away with murder. In todays society it is getting worse too. Today liberal radio talk show host Al Franken did not hide his hatred for what is good. He opened up and joined the likes of Michael Moore and terrorists everywhere to proclaim his advocation of murder. He not only avocates murder but the murder of the president of the United States. The Bible predicts this hatred to come from those who would be against what is just and right. Peter writes in 1 Peter 3:12, ….the Lord turns His face against those who do evil. It is time to for those who love what is right, holy and good to step up to the plate and to expose evil in the light of God’s word. Evil cannot survive in the light and those who perpetuate wickedness will not go unpunished (see Proverbs 11:21)

Simply a miracle
You never know what a day may bring. While I write this, I'm also keeping my eye on something phenomenal. I would consider the ultrasound to be one of mankind's great achievements and I am in the process of transferring a taped copy of one to a dvd. To be able to view a human being inside a human being is beyond simple words. Yet something even more amazing to me is the human being itself. The tiny baby with his nose, mouth, face, body, legs, toes, arms, fingers. Each member has a purpose. The tiny baby cannot feed itself and yet it needs food to survive. It is utterly helpless and yet continues to survive- thanks to mom. The mother feeds the baby and with her hands she is also able to feed herself. How could she know she ever needed arms to feed herself in the first place? She doesn't, she just does, you say? How does the baby know how to feed itself? We know the answer to both questions. They don't nor could they without the existence of someone else who does. God created them both along with each essential individual body part. All serving a particular purpose. To this, we must humbly acknowledge, this can be none other than simply a miracle and the baby hasn't even been born yet!

The skunk and the opossum
For some odd reason, today has been a cat day. I read in the news that people are proposing to hunt feral cats in their town. My parents have a few cats of their own. Ok, so there are about 7 cats that live nearby their house and two that live inside. Let me say write up front, I am a cat person. I like cats and dogs....quite a bit. However, on occasion I have had the sinister desire to hunt a particular cat or two especially when they pick on other cats. I am not sure exactly what set off my desire to do this today but today was one of those days. Perhaps it was the skunk and the opossum fight the night before. Have you ever witnessed one of those? I'm going to have to film it next time. It makes it difficult to sleep, not to mention breathe. Those fights sure are smelly! Actually, I imagine fighting with a skunk will always have an odorous consequence and it might not really be a "fight" at all. I think the skunk wins in every case. Yeah, I am quite sure that last night's "fight" set off my desire to hunt the cat today, or was it really a skunk?

I am the fly today
I wish I knew how to read people better. I think I may have been bamboozled today. It seems to happen once in awhile. Ok, for me, perhaps at least once a week. I know it's not right to lie so it may not have been such a terrible thing in the end. I made a purchase and called to confirm the order. The sales rep insisted I buy an add-on item of which I insisted I didn't need. The rep insisted I did and that my order would take three times as long if I didn't purchase the add on. I believe he was lying through his teeth as to whether I needed it or not but nevertheless, I gave in. I am thankful I didn't lie to him in return. Nevertheless, I was like a fish on a hook. I was putty in his hands. I was the mouse in his trap. You've seen flies get zapped in those bright zappy light things? Well, I am the fly today. Although, I do believe I have survived the "zap" this time. You get the point. That all being said, I think I may have still gotten a pretty good deal overall. I'd like to think so anyways. We'll see for sure, if the package arrives.....intact.

Bible study is tonight
Tonight, God willing, is a Bible study. I really look forward to this time. I wish you could be there too. If you're in the Humboldt county area, please contact me if you would like to go or find out more. The dialogue, discussion and reading over God's Word renews my mind, not to mention passion. I've been given the opportunity to put together a few tv spots and now must find out what funds are available for putting them on the air. It's quite expense for a simple 30 sec spot in primetime. Would you believe 150 bucks? Ok, but with God all things are possible so it could happen very soon. Of course donations to this ministry are welcome too.

Who are your friends?
...Do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? So whoever wants to be the world's friend becomes God's enemy. James 4:4 Today I was brutally confronted and conflicted with the verse you've just read. What is a friend of the world? I know many I would consider to be personal friends although perhaps not "close" friends but friends nontheless. Another Bible verse on my mind is 1 John 2:15. It reads, "Stop loving this evil world and all that it offers you, for when you love the world, you show that you do not have the love of the Father in you." As one who seeks to follow Christ, I must ask myself, do I love this world? There are many things that are considered "fun" and definitely even exciting. Of course, many who know me would know it takes a great deal for me to be visibly excited but nevertheless, I ask, what am I getting excited about? God knows and that is more than convicting for me.

Opening Day
Today is opening day for many baseball teams except my team, the Dodgers. Today is not only opening day for baseball, it is also opening day for this web log. I refuse to overuse or vocalise that other word that is suppose to refer to a web log. I think it's "blog". It just sounds so cheesy to me. Sometimes I think I'd like to know the person who said it first. And what happened after they said it in public, and why did the word stick? I mean, weblog really isn't that long a word, is it? Now we all have to use the silly thing. Why couldn't it be called a wog? Nah, maybe that sounds just as cheesy, or worse! One thing is for certain, whether it's called a wog or a blog it reminds me of something a frog might like. Ok, I'll stop now, until next time.
